レビュー (Amazon)
The nine instrumental pieces on this 1972-vintage blaxploitation soundtrack are everything you, Quentin Tarantino, or yo' mama could want: funky, slick, exquisitely dated. Thank then-ubiquitous arranger Gene Page, who arranged and wrote them. Program your CD player to avoid the excruciating--perhaps appropriately so; Blacula was a horror flick, after all--vocal numbers that fill out the set. The Hues Corporation give no hint that their masterful "Rock the Boat" was just a couple of summers down the chronological road, while the 21st Century Ltd.'s subsequent disappearance is absolutely no mystery. --Rickey Wright
