レビュー (Amazon) If the songs for At First Sight were decided upon up-front, the inclusion of the Richard Rodgers classic "It Never Entered My Mind" might explain much of Mark Isham's adopted style for his score. The film is a story of someone who can't see; so Isham paints their interior. The piano is constantly the principal voice and is augmented by only the smallest of ensembles. "You Don't See Me" sustains a most melancholy duet between a repeating descending piano line and strings. Alternately, there's "Our Eyes Ain't What Makes Us See" with an uplifting piano melody referring back to the opening of the album and the title cue. Those listeners already familiar with Isham's "other" career will be waiting for the jazz trumpet to kick in but it isn't until the album's second half--the songs--that anything along those lines appears to add brighter colours (Louis Armstrong's "A Kiss To Build A Dream On" and "They Can't Take That Away From Me"). --Paul Tonks 関連グッズ |
