レビュー (Amazon)
Purely concerned with series two and three, this second volume of music from Lexx shows a definite maturity in composer Marty Simon's style. A popular track, the "Yo-A-O" battle song has been promoted to series theme tune and opens this collection, which represents 16 of the kinky/kooky episodes. After some raunchy backing for "Stan's Trial" on saxophone, there's one of the series' finest melodies in "A Walk in the Desert", which poignantly depicts Xev's abject loss experienced on planet Fire. You get plenty of the fun songs strewn throughout the show, like Xenia Seeberg's title tune for "The Xev Show" and the nursery-rhyme fun of "Garden". There's also the country-styled national anthem for planet "Potato Hoe", a "Medieval Dance", and bridging action cues like "Demented Chase". The music is still mostly electronically realised, but that does make for a one-off soundscape for the show. The cuts of dialogue are as memorable as ever, but unfortunately you do have to suffer 790 and Stan in a singing contest. --Paul Tonks
