The WB network's popular series finds California fashion designer Ava Gregory's (Lori Loughlin) hip beachfront lifestyle turned topsy-turvy when a family tragedy spurs her to take custody of her niece and two nephews. The show's buoyant soundtrack plays off those often bittersweet familial concerns with a collection that's by turns spunky and introspective. The energetic punk-pop of Bowling for Soup’s "Undertow," Collective Soul's "General Attitude" and "All Downhill From Here" from Florida's New Found Glory kick the collection off in high gear, before the blue-eyed, teeny-pop-soul of Jesse McCartney's hit "Get Your Shine On" breaks the spell. Alt.vets Lisa Loeb and New York's Ivy offer quieter, more poignant intrigues, while Kenny Wayne Shepherd dishes up the arena-scaled "Alive" and newcomers Kristian Leontiou and Ringside round out the collection with haunting R&B angst and club-friendly grooves, respectively. --Jerry McCulley
