 『スター・ウォーズ』シリーズ6作目に寄せられたジョン・ウィリアムズによる楽しく躍動的な曲は、圧倒的な支持を誇った30年間に渡るジョージ・ルーカスの銀河とのコラボを終わりに導いている。ところで本当に『スター・ウォーズ』は終わるのだろうか。ルーカスとウィリアムズが、さらに前の時代に遡るエピソードで共に作業することはないのだろうか。実現することを祈りたいものだ。ジャー・ジャー・ビンクスでは満足できない。

   この作品の音楽は、『スター・ウォーズ』シリーズの中でも特にエキサイティングで、サウンドトラック自体がおもしろく、邪悪で険悪でスリリングな雰囲気を醸しだしている。英雄的な賛歌がこの『スター・ウォーズ　エピソード3/シスの復讐』全編に織り込まれており、「Imperial March」からメイン・テーマまで、シリーズのファンにはおなじみのはずだ。メイン・テーマは何度耳にしても心躍る曲で、『スター・ウォーズ』関連商品にありったけの資金をつぎ込む者でなくとも、気分が高揚することは間違いない。本作品にはそうしたなじみの曲だけでなく、新しい曲も数多く収録されており、ウィリアムズとロンドン交響楽団の瑞々しく熱心な心意気が惜しみなく披露されている。特に威圧的で活気のある「General Grievous」（邦題「グリーバス将軍」）、そして勢いのあるエンディング・テーマの「New Hope」（邦題「新たなる希望」）でそこが顕著に感じられる。（Mike McGonigal, Amazon.com）
